Moore County NC Real Estate Market Snapshot – February 2026

  • Market Type (based on inventory): Balanced.
  • Months of Inventory: 4.07 months (down 5.57% month-over-month).
  • Sold-to-List Price Ratio: 97.5% (down 0.59% month-over-month).

Moore County is balanced overall, but January showed slower market behavior: days on market increased significantly and sold-to-list ratio declined. Median sold price and estimated value both declined month-over-month, even while list prices moved slightly higher. Net result: sellers are still listing confidently, but buyers are negotiating more and taking longer.

Three Major Forces Currently Affecting Housing in Moore County

1) Stable but Limited New Policy Changes

February did not produce major zoning shifts or moratoriums, keeping development conditions steady.

2) Relocation Demand from Surrounding Growth Areas

Spillover interest from Wake and Harnett continues to support pricing stability in key Moore County submarkets.

3) Selective Residential Project Filings

Smaller infill and custom-home development applications remain active.
